How to nominate

Entries are completed online via the APSAA website.  There is an entry page for each award - if nominating for more than one award, you must complete a separate nomination for each award.

Tips for nominating

  • Re-read each question to ensure you are addressing precisely what is being asked
  • Be clear and concise - ensure your answers are within the word limits
  • Ensure you have provided information relevant to the evaluation rubric
  • Check spelling and grammar
  • Reference evidence - these can be incorporated into your submission
  • Before hitting submit - do a final review - have you clearly addressed the criteria and demonstrated what the category seeks to recognise?

Judging process

  • Individual awards are voted on by the APSAA Board of Directors.  Excellence awards will be managed by an Awards Panel
  • The APSAA Awards Panel (the Panel) will be appointed by the APSAA Board
  • The Panel will have access to the APSAA Awards group portal
  • The APSAA Secretariat will inform the Panel chair when nomination documents are available
  • The Panel chair will review all nominations to ensure they are relevant to the appropriate category and specific requirements have been met
  • A single nomination for an award does not necessarily mean the award will be given in that category
  • Where there is more than one nomination received for an award, the Panel will be invited to vote on each nomination based on their individual assessment using the evaluation rubric
  • Only nominations with an aggregate score of 18 points or higher will be considered by the Panel as contenders for an award.  A score of less than 18 points will not be considered to be at a standard of excellence
  • Finalists will undergo a webconference interview with the panel
  • The Panel chair will notify the APSAA Executive of award recipients for satification
  • APSAA Executive will endorse the award recipients and inform the APSAA Secretariat to proceed with arrangements
  • APSAA Secretariat will inform nominees on all procedural matters
  • APSAA Secretariat will manage all administrative requirements for the awards and promotion

The Awards panel will be made up of memebrs who nominate themselves to join.  The panel shall have representation from:

  • APSAA Board of Directors
  • APSAA Secretariat
  • Members with 3+ years of experience in the student accommodation
    • Minimum one member with a management function in facilities
    • Minimum one member with a management function in student experience
